Even though the Thunder-Grizzlies game is finishing up as we speak, we’ve had the results of the prediction tourny since after Game 6 of the Thunder series (what can I say? We are just more efficient than the NBA). Please pour some of your drink out for these fallen brothers: Mike, Alex (of PodCavs), Jack (of PodCavs), and Jared. While they are out of the tournament, they fought hard and deserve a small, nearly insignificant amount of respect.

I am really looking forward to my matchup against Demetri. Many people who read this blog (and/or our twitter accounts) are not aware of my epic love story with Demetri. Emily calls him my “internet boyfriend.” We met on the Cavs.com message board and fell in love with each other over our mutual disgust with the AV/Sasha contract negotiations in the summer of 2007. Our love matured when we took a step further with chats on IM and a few Smash Brothers Brawl faceoffs (it would have been more, but online for that game is ASS). I think this love story culminated with our summer fishing trip in 2009 when Demetri took my virginity and made me swear I would never tell a soul — especially on a basketball blog named after Christian Eyenga. So the point I’m trying to make is Demetri and I think a lot alike, and our matchup is going to be an epic mental showdown where I win.

The Emily versus Bon Jush matchup is also interesting. She is my fiance, and he is going to be the best man in my wedding. We all become friends at the same time, so there’s the whole “friend” versus “friend” thing going on there, too. Not to mention that “Jush” is a sexist pig who has no respect for women and thinks Emily doesn’t stand any kind of chance.

I will post the predictions for this round before Game 1 of the Thunder-Mavericks series (don’t worry, I already have everyone’s Miami-Chicago predictions in). Stay tuned – shit’s about to get real.
